BUILDING STRONG RELATIONSHIPS AND FIRM FOUNDATIONS
At SIAM BOXING CAMP we work hard all year round to build strong and firm foundations with a multiple of different organisations that strengthen our ethos, goals and targets.
A lot of this work takes us to a variety of different venues working alongside a multitude of groups within our community. From community centres, to local schools and colleges we are building long lasting relationships with all the members of our community.
Our fundamentals of Muay Thai enables everyone in our community to benefit from this old practising, traditional Martial Art. While our members enjoy the explosive physical meditation, our community reaps the benefits of its underlying outcomes. Our younger members become balanced individuals who are fantastic ambassadors of our sport.
Whether it is practised in a contact form ( 2 people hitting each other) or its "non-contact" form, its "healing" powers are limitless.
DON'T KNOCK IT UNTIL YOU HAVE TRIED IT!
It is really easy to get totally wrapped up in the stigmatisation of many things, but if life has taught me one fundamental rule- it is this very one! Do not judge it until you have tried it.
I was introduced to this phenomenal sport through a "recommendation". This is often how you get hooked! Someone you know will attend a Muay Thai class and tell you that you MUST go! Like me, you reluctantly drag yourself along, sick of the same person hassling you week after week and you have totally exhausted all believable excuses of why you won't be joining them!
You attend your first ever session and it is like nothing else you have ever done before.
And that's where your awesome Muay Thai journey begins!
Hopefully with us!
Building strong relationships is what we do best!
Having secured a number of funding opportunities over the years it has given us the opportunity to be very visible and credible within our local and surrounding communities. Delivering our explosive fitness programmes to as young as 3 years of age to the ripe young age of 75!
In recent years our credible work with "Be The Change" an initiative focusing on raising the aspirations of young people within East Sussex was a fantastic local project to be involved in. This work was the launch pad to further invitations to deliver sessions to Brighton University students studying at the Hastings Site Campus.
In July 2016 we mentored students from across the county with "Pru" and "Carrie". Their initiative "My Future Starts Here" aimed to raise low self esteem and confidence in our secondary school aged sector.
We are the only sport organisation that delivers weekly fitness sessions for adults and children to participate in TOGETHER and we are really proud of all the hard work, commitment and dedication we have driven into this amazing idea.
It eradicates more barriers to fitness than you would ever care to think of! While Mum attacks her push ups she is championed by her "reasons"....her little mini me's chanting "go on mum, you've got this!" while they too are nailing their shuttle runs. Dad's most certainly don't get let off lightly as they too are joining in on all the physical challenges too.
A project that was initially launched back in 2016 and was only ever meant to last 6 weeks has now been running for 4 years (2020) and picked up so much momentum and popularity, we now take it straight into local schools, encouraging parents to work out with their children.
Virtual Family fitness packages can now be purchased directly from us, so the family can continue to work out at home together.

"Be The Change" was a fantastic project to be part of.
An early "FAMILY FITNESS" session when we were delivering the sessions at The Hastings Academy in partnership with Hastings Sport C.I.C.
Most of the adults and children in this photo, 4 years on, are still training with us and this is a fantastic keep sake of how young the children were when they all started their fitness journey with us. |
We spent a lot of time in the beginning being present at events.

I love this picture! Evidence of families reaping the benefits of what we do.

Our journey started at RYE TOWN BOXING CLUB back in 2015.

We love this photo! Another "FAMILY FITNESS" photo and all the children are super young here!

A "FAMILY FITNESS" session brought into a local primary school.
This project has been named "SCHOOLS OUT WORK OUT" and has been a really successful, new initiative to get children and parents working out together straight after school.
